The game of poker becomes increasingly popular in the ninetieth and twentieth centuries, mostly in America, but exactly where and how it started in unclear. Some have suggested the game was conceived by the merging of the European and Middle Eastern games. Poker, as we know that, probably was born in the southern United States, grew into its adolescence on the riverboats along the big rivers and reached adulthood in the wild American west. Some claim the riverboats, like the ones that trolled up and down the Mississippi and Missouri rivers, contributed immensely to the growth of poker. This is most likely true. Throughout the years, poker has evolved into many forms and variations.
